As the draft has changed into just regular teams I am looking for players for a team.
I thought it would be fun to have a theme for the team, to bond us together :)
I wondered about the idea of having a 50mm f/1.8 team perhaps called 50/1.8
This team would take all their photos with a 50mm 1.8 lens. As it is an exceptional lens it could create some stunning photos. Additionally it is cheap so it wouldn't exclude anyone as far as it's price. Using this lens would challenge us to work with what we have, and explore things we may not have thought to do otherwise unless we were 'forced'. I find that doing something as overkill forces me to search new ways to make it interesting... which usually makes for good creativity and brainstorming.
so with that...

I think the WPL is world photo league but Im not positive...I think i could use a bit of "esplainin'" too. :o)
edited: to remove name off this list just cause I entered in the draft part instead. I thik theres some more qualified members wanting in this one and I dont think i would really have that much to offer here as Im still learning the in's and out's of my camera.

Me too love my 50/1.8 and i don't have an idea what WPL is, have seen forum postings but always got lost...
I would love to join in and be better!

If you don't make into this team there are plenty of other teams to be made up in the draft sign up here. Scott still needs about 50 people.

I'm guessing a lot more ppl would join teams if they were advertised via the forums.
The draft is a good idea but no-one liked being the last kid picked on school sports day.
Good onya leaf for showing some initiative. I hope others will be encouraged to follow your lead.

Leaf - can we have an update here showing who is on the team thus far? It would help others know how many slots we have left. I think banmor may still be looking for a spot.

I'll join up just explain what I'd have to do...am I correct in assuming that I'd have to use the 50 1.8 to enter all the challenges? That sounds like fun to me....where do i sign?

Dave would be great to have you on the team! PM Leaf and let him know you want on. All you have to do is enter challenges as usual. Leaf suggests we use nothing but our 50mm 1.8 lens. It isnt a WPL rule though - just the idea behind the team.

Sorry for being so stagnant on replying in the last couple days.
I found out there was a waiting list from last season and so i thought i should offer the places on the 50/1.8 team to the people there first before accept more offers here. It is exciting to see so many people interested in the team, and too bad there won't be room for everyone. So anyhow, I will wait until tommorow and then sort through how many people from the waiting list are interested in the team, and then take people from this post on a first come first serve basis from when i started this thread.
If you want to be on a team and there ends up not being room on this one, contact Southern Gentleman ASAP, as he is the organizer. He may know of a team looking for players, or at least put you on the waiting list for next round (if there is one)
