Happy Mother's Day! I took these Mother's Day portraits of the kiddos at the day care my program operates, and thought I'd share them with you. It was a crazy, rushed (20 minutes for all of them) setup and shoot, but I think the moms will like them anyway. I hope all you moms out there have a great day too!! :)

PS...I wasn't too crazy about the poses, but I'm not a portrait person so I just kinda ran with what the kids gave me. ;)

Larger images are located here... Comments and critiques are always appreciated! :)

Those are sweet Laurie! I bet the moms will love them. I know I would. Have no idea what my daughters class did because she was home sick with me all week. I suppose we'll find out tomorrow lol.

I just had to leave a comment to say this is the best series of child portraits that I've seen in a long time! The sheer emotion and personality radiating from every child is nothing short of a miracle... I don't know how you got such natural and expressive poses out of them, but they are all extremely touching!

I especially enjoyed the third from the bottom (on this page): what gaze!

Congratulations!

Thanks so much...I was worried that the colors were a bit busy, and some of the clothes didn't really complement the setting, but I guess as long as the kid is cute it makes it better. ;)

I have worked with these kids all school year, and some of them have been in our program since birth. They are all very comfortable with me and are pretty used to me having a camera in their faces. That really helps!!

I tried a couple of different crops and some B/W...do you think it works better?

I love bw too. You know what though, the color ones, I love the bright vivid colors and the great contrast of the green and red- regardless of the children's clothing clashing lol.

Love them all.
