why must people of a side say bad things about the other?
why do fans of a side try to persuade others to join their sides?
weird weird world

My opinion is that most of it is all in good fun -- with the rest chalked up to the insecurity of having made the 'right' choice.

BTW: Nikon rocks! :P

You forgot Pentax camera owners mate! I think Pentax owners are even more passionate about their cameras than anyone.

And when this baby comes out later this year there will be no one and nothing to stop us!!! Joins us now or die!!! ;-)

I would have to say the photographer (or fan) makes the camera (or team), not the other way around.

A camera can be great, but if you dont know what to shoot, how will it help?

If a sports team is great, but no one is watching or cheering, whats the point?

Just my thoughts...

:-)

Dont say that czechman.

GIS_boy's camera is No.10 out of 641 in the list of highest avg submission from a given camera at this site. Your suggesting that better photographers choose Pentax and poorer photographers choose other brands. :) :) :)

Haha, but the best choose Contax!!! It´s the nr 1 camera on this site, just proves again that it´s not the equipment but the people behind the camera :)

I've always had a weak spot for Pentax, I sincerely hope Pentax lives on with Samsung. I would love to own a Pentax with these:

77/1.8

31/1.8

21mm/3.2

Of course it is Larus but I may sneak out and get me one of those Contax cameras anway. I'll need it in the 2nd round of the League of Death, (if we both make it that far). :)

cheers,
bazz.

And that right there is one of the reasons I still shoot Pentax. The 77mm ltd is my fav lens by far.

cheers,
bazz.

EDIT: And what a strange turn of events. A Canon/Nikon thread going off topic to discuss Pentax equipment :)

Regardless of what you have:

"Cameras don't take pictures, people do"

But if you need the mega pixels to make you a good photograher you may want to consider this:
Mamiya 22MP

I still think Pentax (even with their little *ist cameras) are bit underrated for digital. I hope that middle-tier camera will somewhat fix that. I always root for the underdog. :)
Does that 77mm mount on K-mount? Maybe I'll get the K-mount adapter. ;)

Yep that looks like it would work fine and you'd probably be the first person to ever try it :)

cheers,
