i dont get it either, Rhyth(e)m sounds more like musical, and the challenge Rhytem1 looks indeed more like patterns.
Cliches & Sayings....don't get that one to, maybe my english aint to good, but sayings are a local, and not international, well not all of them.
i'm gonne go try Rhythm2 and see it like a "challenge".

I think you all are being a bit too literal. This is a photography site, after all, and regardless of the challenge the idea is to take a good picutre. One that harkens back to the challenge theme. Not necessarily to take a picture of the challenge theme. (If that were the case you would see 500 photos of drums and bass guitars next week! And you may still...)

No, fortunatly the photo only has to evoke a sense of the topic, and patterns are very rythmic... curvaceous patterns even more so. In the first Rhythm challenge you have to go to 12th place to get an image with mostly straight lines and angles.

dictionary.com's definition 5b;

"A regular or harmonious pattern created by lines, forms, and colors in painting, sculpture, and other visual arts."

Though I must confess that last night I saw the challenge title but continually timed out while trying to get to the description, and went to bed planning to get some rehearsal shots of our local "Stomp"-type percussion group... Back to the drawing board!

You're taking a big risk if you enter this challenge. DPC voters could hardly define "yellow", nevermind something as abstract as "rhythm".

Any subject that repeats at regularly spaced intervals would be rhythmic, items such as fence posts or telephone poles come to mind.

Did you notice hardly any of the winners are around much anymore? WOW
