I always take far too many pictures and I also save my "bad" shots in special folders called "Unused" or something like that. I also save them to DVD:s but I keep them on my HDs. I have three HDs (200+120+120GB). They are all sorted into 988 different mainfolders and subfolders and subsubfolders and so on.

I have 18000 on my hard drive and about 5000 backed up because of lack of space.
Going to buy a larger hard drive soon.
1312 selected pics in my gallery: //finnur.nord.is

...I never delete anything, and I allways carry my camera with me (Ixus fits nicely in your pocket)...it´s like a kind of a diary...
These are acumulated over 3 years period and it blows your mind to put on a random slide show with all pics selected ;)

I have about 22,000 plus another cd of backup stuff, which is all challenge extras and outtakes and flat out trash that I never should've kept anyway. That probably has another 1000 or so on it. I've only been "seriously" taking pictures for one year. What happens in one more year?

Scary!

I was just wondering, what's the best way to store you images w/o clogging up your comp. External memory stores, CD-R[W]s &c... And as an album or just individual files?

Oh and as for how many... You guys say you have like 90,000? *rolls her eyes*.

I have like 30!

Heh heh, just wait 'til the addiction really kicks in! :^)

I'm pretty religious about "clearing the chaff", my images directories now contain about 3500 photos. But I've shot 800+ pix in the last two weeks since getting the 10D. Of those, maybe 50-100 will make it to the hard drive permanently.

I haven't got a clue how many photos I have, but the main photo folder is just a little over 3 gigabites in size. When I download the photos on my hd, I delete all the out of focus and too dark shots first.

Dont worry lol, it's not the lack of passion for photography, but the lack of time. I am already going to classes that begin sessions with, "Hi, I'm Esme. I am a photographic"... *shakes her head.*

With time, my portfolio will be bursting!

Regardless I have built a website about photography for myself and a few good friends, I have never been really stimulated to take pics until I met DPC (and it was love at the first sight! =).

I have always been a very lazy boy (especially when it comes to photography) and my site has only 70 pics of mine at the moment (my archive will have a few hundreds but nothing valuable, really).

If there will be a change in the trend, it's just because DPC's formula (and its implementation) really made a miracle on me!

I can become a maniac when I like something so, please, ask me the same question again in one year time! =)

pretty much dito, between 10,000 and 20,000 images although not nearly that many on-line. In various locations about 100 I would say. I am not yet a blue shirt so none here yet.

This summer I worked at a sports camp and one of my jobs was to take digital pictures and upload them to the camps website for parents to see.

This summer I took about 2 gigabytes of photos with a 3.2 mp camera. Not very many of them would be considered too artistic though. A lot of sports photography and group photos of smiling kids.

I only keep about 1000 on my computer but I dump them aften to CD's. I have about about 6 CD's full of image files.

I was told the biggest difference between an amature and a professional is that a professional gets rid of the bad images right away and an amature keeps them forever. :<)

I've archived about 9,000 with my D100 since I got it last October... a couple thousand more with my Canon. God Bless the 120GB hard drive...
