They're everywhere, most religions got 'em, and a lot of them are very beautiful. I think it would make a good challenge, how about you?

I'm in for it. India is full of "holy places"

Done one already, but, hey, I am up for going up there again and shooting it. Would just need to sleep the night before (night shift worker), to get up early enough...again.

Works for me. Reminds me of one we had in Nov of 03, Sacred Places, "Churches, Synagogue, Temples, Nature. Photograph a place sacred to you". Got one of my first decent scores in that challenge with this shot.

Sounds good to me. Though, it will just make me more jealous of people in Europe who have those amazing cathedrals/ancient churches to shoot.

All of these have been taken within the last two weeks as I've been trying to show what spring time looks like around Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Various sacred or holy places including LDS Temples in Salt Lake City, Houston Texas and San Antonio Texas. Also Catholic Missions as part of the National Parks Service in San Antonio including the Alamo. The place that also has a very holy feeling is the Veteran’s Cemetery at Fort Sam Houston.

Not really a place of worship, but this is sort of holy. It's a tomb and has mosques surrounding it.
Taj Mahal - Agra, India

I'd love to see this as a challenge.

Me too. It could be fun.

That is so wild, I was just thinking on Friday night how cool it would be to do a challenge like this. I hadn't seen it till just now. Good idea, but from the pictures shown here, I already loose :(

Wow, that was quick - surprised to see it a challenge so soon. I'll keep a look out for your shot, Dave.

Religion is one aspect of Holy Places, but what about the other aspect such as...

My Holy Place

More of my interpretation

God doesn't just have his sheep kneel, stand, sing, and pray in just one type of building.

You know I'd love to shoot something at a stadium but there's no point unless I want a 4.5 score.

Oddly enough, all of these were in Japan.

Yeah, I know how you feel. My Rythm submission is just what you said.

Sometimes you just have to shoot for yourself, and not for a virtual ribbon.

Besides, you can't get a good hotdog and a beer at church.

i've got your holy place!

my submission is probably going to offend people into giving me a two...

since i usually get a two anyways, this doesn't matter much to me.

i'm going to submit the holiest place i know.

Oh my. I'm already getting ideas of what this could be.
Good luck!

My toilet is quite holy. I visit it at least twice a day for a nice, relaxing period of concentration and thought.
