One of my favourites is a tree I don't know the name of but the contrast is amazing between the green leaves and the red berries (it's not Holly). In the fall the leaves turn from rusty red to gold.

Weeping Willows are nice unless near water pipes, then they're nasty.

One of those little twisty pine bonzai trees that grows overlooking the ocean or a pond. They're small, but I find them facinating.

A Western Red Cedar. They smell good, keep pests away and thrive in fog and rain. They're resilient, useful and handsome in an evergreen sort of way.

A mighty oak - they're strong and have beautiful leaves. Plus they drop acorns - feeding the wildlife which I really enjoy doing.

If you want to get to the root of things, we photographers are all nuts.

But I'm a real sap for this type of post, so I guess it's ok.

Sorry, I couldn't Leaf this one alone.

I hope this didn't go against anybody's grain.

Both my neighbors have them, and they make a mess all over my yard. Not just the leaves, but the acorns and all that brown junk they drop.

I would be a tree that never made a mess. :)

I am surprised no has responded Money Tree:-)

I see posthumous has mentioned the Tree of Life - Yggdrasil

For me it would probably be the Chinese Fringe Tree or China Snow - a blossom tree - although Crayon's response with the Sukara Tree is a good one as well
