I can't remember the source, but I have recently either saw a post with a link, found a tutorial, or read a magazine with an awesome technique to use channels as a source (not an alpha) in selection to select really fine detail (ie hairs) it was used in sharpening, but I need to use it to dodge and burn a flower to bring out the fine texture in the petals and to sharpen. But I can't remember nor find the source.
At any rate, does anyone know what Im talking about here? Could you be so kind as to point me in the right direction?
Thanks.

I think it was actually at the Adobe site, but I can't remember the thread it was in either. |

A great source for using Channels in selections is Kelby's new book The Photoshop Channels Book.
