How about CC only available for pictures that are scored 6.0 or 5.5 or less? Obviously those with higher scores did something right and since those with an average score hardly gets any comments especially improvement type comments. I wonder if this could even be implemented?

Not sure if this was ever suggested?

Sounds like a good idea!

I bet that would free up some of the workload for the CC people?!

Doesn't this assume the person scoring above average 'knows' what it is they did right?

Maybe we could ask the "above 6's" to comment on the shots. I often look at winning shots or ones that I like and wonder what they did to achieve the result. Often people don't really explain what they did to achieve what they did - whether it is in the shooting or the post work.
I think it would be a great idea.

They only problem is you would have to know your image is going to score above a 6 before the challenge even begins. I am sure you could make a code that if they checked they wanted a crituqe before it would forward their submission it would have to check to see if it was less than a 6+.

Images are only added to the CC queue after a challenge is finished.

Rather than adding all images with request box ticked, just add those with a score below a certain figure.

i'm not sure if that's completely fair, really. even high scorers like critical feedback about their shots. the trick(s) here are to make sure the CC comments are informative and valuable (and not just more fawning admiration), and getting more members into the CC.

i haven't been involved much, and i know Hbunch has been distracted. has there been any great membership push lately? maybe it's just time to re-infuse the CC with new blood.

I tend to agree however I'm sure in some cases all boxes were ticked on submission without really knowing what they were for only that if some boxes weren't ticked the submission wasn't accepted.
