Hey ya'll.....I entered this shot into a 24 hour Speed contest with basic editing rules and came in DEAD LAST! Is it really THAT bad? I would love some ways to improve it or some comments on what I did wrong or poorly.

Hi,

I think you suffered because your photo looks washed out, and there´s a difference between High Key and washed out..

Not the best maybe but this was one of my try´s in High Key:

Bump up the contrast A LOT... it should help you get the image details you need.

You need shadows(black areas). Every image must have shadows, midtones and highlights.

I disagree. Check out this beautiful photo. Looks to me like only midtones and highlights.
