I don't think it has ever been done here before and I think it would step up the competition a notch.

Pick any subject theme, but have the contestants photos visible during the contest. In a spirit of continuing one-upmanship, allow contestants to view competitors' uploads and then submit what they consider a better presentation of the subject. Each contestant can upload as many submissions as they want but only the last submission by each contestant will be displayed and subsequently judged.

Somewhat like what is played out on a continuing basis here, here, here, here, here and here.

Might be fun on a more limited scale though.
