Hey all ... I want to get a custom made rubber stamp with my signature squiggle for my prints and such ... has anyone had experience with any companies that do this? Any info would be awesome

Thanks :)

Yes, I've done this. Be very careful about the ink, it can smudge if it's too new. I've taken a new tack on it, and am now working on doing peel and stick labels to adhere to the back, it's not as easy as a stamp, but it rubs off less on other prints.

thanks for the tip :)

I'm also looking to stamp the back of a greeting card with my photo on the front ... i'm sure a more pourous surface would help :)

Stampman.com is very resonable. If you invest in more expensive ink it lasts better, Stampin' up is pretty good.

VistaPrint has a promotion for some "free" rubber stamps (pay S&H) -- might be worth a try.

Unless you get special ink, it may not be archival.

I have wondered about stamping my business name and copyright on the back of my photos. Are there any issues with ink bleeding through or reactions with the photo paper that might affect the print itself?

I went for an alternate approach - address labels. I got the company that does my return address labels (about 1" x 1/3") to do a separate set of labels saying
Copyright (C) Tim Anderson
(my address and phone number)

Much easier that stamping them, also no risk of the pressure of the impact showing through on the front of the photo.

Paper labels applied to the photo should really be acid-free material, and the adhesive too. There is also the worry that over time the label could cause puckering of the photo because of drying/shrinkage of the adhesive.

you can create a custom paintbrush in photoshop that is an image of your signature. kind of tricky getting the size right but it works.

i'm late for work - so don't have time to run through the process but it's in the forums here somewhere.

but i want the image in the lower corner of the photo ... or to stamp the back of a greeting card ... its the PINK squiggle in my signature (or you can see it in my profile) ... i'm planning to make greeting cards and sell them at craft shows ...

i understand the addy label ... i can make those at home ... not quite what i'm looking to do ..

thanks for all the ideas

it's a brush - size is no problem - use the [ and ] to change brush size.

What kind of ink is suggested. My parents recently came back from an overseas trip and got me a "Chop" and would be interested in what kind of ink would work with photos.

I called this, and all I got was some shady sounding porn line.

Now, $50 later, I'm wondering why someone would post this here, what a waste of time... ;)
