While voting i noticed a message on some photos. "This photo has been validated". What does it mean?

The photographer has submitted their original and it's been checked to be sure it followed the rules, so there's no need to request DQ if you think something's wrong with it, it's already been verified as legit.

The image can be submitted two ways:

1) The photographer requested a validation themself because they thought (were worried) that voters might get the impression (for whatever reason) that something wasn't done legally - when it really was. If you open your own image from the challenge or voting pages you will see this message/link displayed. "Do you feel that your submission might receive some disqualification requests? If so, you can Request an Admin Note for your image"

2) A voter can request an image be validated using this message /link from the voting page. "Click here if you suspect a rules violation" This will generate a ticket (?) to SC and a request can be made to the photographer to submit their original for validation.

So, you can submit voluntarily - or be forced to via SC request.

edit to fix line break.

I think maybe there a quite a few (or at least a few) who don't understand what this means. I got this comment... I don't understand what is meant by, "This photo has been validated." on one of my entries and on someone else's photo that I was looking at I noticed a comment to the effect of... "I still like this even though it was validated". So, I think some people might think this is a bad thing. I sent my commentor an explantion and cleared him up, but maybe for new people an annoucement should be periodically put up explaining what this means.
