Any recommendations for a P+S under $300? It's a gift for a friend and I know that the most important features are quick shutter response and a large LCD. Manual controls are not needed. It seems like the Casio models are very well priced for what they offer, but I don't know anyone who has had experience with them. Any tips would be great.

| Agreed, the SD400 is good. One of the Canon A-series would be good also, they take AA batteries and some of them have manual controls, just in case... also some of them have swivel LCD's. |
