Kari and I entered a competition with around 150 entries and we came away with four of the 12 ribbons ... we're feeling just a little chuffed about it. The competition was by the Guardians of Pauatahanui Inlet and will be exhibited in the local mall and then will move to the local body's Library/Museum/Gallery complex. We were able to enter up to 3 images in the four categories of Nature, Human-Impact, Abstract & Recreation.

Kari's 1st (Blue) - Human Impact

My 2nd (Red) - Human Impact

and 2nd (Red) - Nature

and my 3rd (Yellow) Nature

Thanks DPC and that means everyone who comments, makes constructive contributions to the learning in forums and generally everyone whose enthusiasm rubs off on us all.

If you want to see all of our entries, here's

Well thanks all. It's really quite a buzz. This is the first time we've entered anything outside of DPC and I'm sure we wouldn't have had the confidence to do so without our DPC experience and subsequent confidence.

Well done Kari and Brett, look forward to seeing enteries in other competitions. Maybe we will get the chance to do another photo shoot with you some time and learn from the pros.

So you guys live in Puatahanui? I'm not far away in Avalon. Which local mall will they be exhibited in? Congrats by the way!

Well done guys!

It must be amazing to have entered a local competition following on from what you have learned here at DPC.

And so many placings, you are to be congratulated! Is the contest only open to locals living in the area or do people come from afar???

I'd agree that the Pautahanui Inlet is one of the most fascinating places to photograph with so many options, colours, textures to capture.

Well done my friends.
