If you put it on the web, then anyone can pull it in. People have lost their jobs because of things they wrote in their blogs.

Who is your blog company? Live Journal (livejournal.com) has an option to make your blog posts readable only by people on your friends list.

Mate, sorry to hear about this, but surely this isnt the place to air your grieviences. Not meaning to sound callous or cold-hearted. You need to remember that its not just you involved in this, its also the kids, they dont need their names/images posted on this website, which could cause humiliation and pain for them.

I hope you get it all worked out.

PS, you were verylucky to get out of that wreck alive!

Tough story bro...no doubt the guy was probably just looking out for what he thought was best for him. Obviously you're very capable of loving and carring for your kids...Sorry to hear about your troubles...we all have them to some degree or another -- it's adapting and growing that makes us stronger.

Why do I get a feeling this is more of an advertisement than anything else. Maybe it's just me.

I don't get it.

Is this just a rant or is there a question in there somewhere?

I'm just sure he wants special treatment.

That's pretty crappy. Maybe he's just jealous he doesnt get to see his kids as much as you, so he went looking for something to start sh*t about.

I think that no matter what you do...you might still get into trouble. What I would do is keep nudes of the internet (for a while at least) and make your blogs available to only those you want to show them to! Otherwise this could come back at you again...but it could be worse!

Anyways...I am glad you are better and out shooting again...hope all is well for you!

Actually I am with Jacko on this one, there was, as far as I can tell, no rhyme or reason to this post, or if there was, it was so lost in translation that it could not be found (by me). Sure its a sad story, but what is the original poster after? Advice? Sympathy? Support? Or, as I initially mentioned, just a chance to air a few grievences?

As I mentioned before, its a pretty sucky situation, but I am still not entirely sure what the original poster was trying to tell or ask us.

It almost feels like I have walked into a situation halfway through and I am trying to work out whats going on. BUt from the posters profile, this is his first ever posting.

You do have my sympathy, but get the photos of your kids off this website. They have a right to not be involved.

it appears as Mr Neeley is rather good at self promotion
& he is 'splattered' quite far across the internet

considering his input to this site is minimal besides a inappropreiate
rant & and (now removed) promotion - bizzar pics that have nothing to do with his story except to push the pity button ..

i will refrain on his photographic ability

Yea, you really have to protect yourself on the net. Myself and my girlfriend have our own website, but it's locked down so only people we approve can view it. I also have a public site, but I'm very careful about the personal pictures I put on there.

i don't understand the need to attack people.

if you have a problem with this or any other thread, use the "Ignore" feature at the top of the page and move on.

I think this is 'rant' or 'general discussion' rather than a photography discussion...

I think the problem that the people who are attacking this guy have is that this post comes completly out of the blue, from somebody who has made no other contribution to this site, and who has plastered at least the first three pages of google with sites about how wonderful he and his art are, and how you can go about purchasing them. After recent events with other attention getting posts/scams here, I think that this post would naturally attract suspicion and cynicism. I'm a little skeptical myself, whether or not this guy is everything he says he is, this post just seems a little sketchy. Sorry if I offend somebody, just my 2c.

cynicism and being skeptical is absolutely fine.

blatantly attacking someone when you don't know the full story is not fine.

this may be his first post, but he's been registered here for quite a while. this is how we treat him right off the bat?

either participate proactively or ignore it and move on. that's all i ask.

Its all a matter of opinion. Basically if you post something on the internet, in a publically accessable forum/messageboard etc, then one shouldn't assume that everyone else is going to side with you and take your point of view.
Personally if I was in a legal situation with my kids, the last thing on earth I would do is air my dirty laundry on a photography website and then post pictures of the kids on the site for no reason. Why drag it out for them anymore than necessary.

I dont think anyone has a `problem` with this thread, its just the original poster put a semi-coherent posting up and other are commenting on its contents. The original poster has contacted me offsite and I know he is not really offended by what people are saying, read his bio on his website, by rights he should be dead, he must be a pretty tough bloke to survive all those injuries, so I am sure a few harsh comments from members of this website are not really going to hurt him too much.

If you are referring to people questioning his photographic ability, then the same stand, you put your website/photos up on a photography related site, expect people to comment on them, moreso, expect some of the comments to be negative.

She could hardly care less that the photo is on here. It has already become an 'official' evidence photo. It is in my online diary and is public there.

Thank you for your thoughts of sympathy.

Where are the blatant attacks? Am I missing something. As in my post referring to being treated "special", I don't think people have to hold back because he has had some significant challenges in life.

edit: I agree with John, this should be a Rant. Thanks

How does one "participate proactively"? Not trying to be a wise guy, just trying to get your point.

Definition:
proactively adv. Acting in advance to deal with an expected difficulty; anticipatory.

Not sure what I posted here exactly but will update later today what happened after a year later.
