I am letting my best friend go today - My dog Maximus has been with me for two years now through the roughest parts in my life. He was there when my wedding was called off, when I sold my house one month after buying it and through my health battles and family deaths. He is always so comforting and well, perfect.

I don't have the money or time to give him the attention he deserves and with two jobs and school ... I simply want to be selfless and give him a good home. He is going to be adopted by my uncle Paul who lives out in the country. My uncle loves animals and is a kind hearted man, he spends tons of time outdoors on his property and I know he'll take care of my baby.

Max is going from a one bedroom aparment in the city to a 10 acre farm with kitties and ponds and blue skies... I hope he will be happy there and not miss me as much as I will him. I also hope he doesn't run off and get lost or injured (he is not familiar with wide open spaces)

Your prayers and thoughts for my doggie would be appreciated - I hope he can understand why I'm doing this. :(

(((((HUG))))) That always looks so silly, but I couldn't think of anything else to do.

I can only imagine what that feels like. My dog is my best friend too even though I don't get to see him while I'm away at school. I hope it all works out for you and your dog and that you get to see him often even though he doesn't live with you anymore. I wish you all the best.

I can imagine what you are going through....I have more time for my dog than a lot of humans ! He will be fine I'm sure as long as you see him from time to time, as he will miss you too !

Wishing you the best for you and your dog. It's a hard thing to do, but it seems he'll have lots of four-legged companionship.

I'm getting the bug to have a dog, but I know I can't until someday I can become a stay-at-home-dogmom! That will be when I retire most likely or become highly sucessful as a freelance photographer - even less likely!!!!

Max will be lost at first but he will adjust and you will know in your heart you are doing the best for him. {{{{hugs}}}}

thanks guys for your comforting words and thoughts.... He is here with me for tonight and he is just by my side like nothing is going to change. :( I know its best though, and he will at least be in my family and I'll be updating on him.
