Ok..
How are YOU interpreting the description?

Example;
The movie is "Gone with the Wind"

Would accept an image that "inteprets the title" eg a leaf blowing away...gone with the wind

or would you try and recreate the burning of Atlanta? which could be fun ..

hmm?

This catagory lends itself to many interpretations. I think the wind blowing and whatnot is a good example of what you could do with a title as well. You could put a few 22 caliber derringers on a table and call it "Young Guns", or maybe fireworks could represent "Star Wars??"

Your photograph should mimic a scene from a movie of your choice.

If Gone With the Wind has a leaf-blowing scene, then go for it.

How about some woman, draped in rags digging in the dirt for one more rutabaga (or whatever it was) saying tomorrow is another day (or whatever Scarlett said).

hehehe I believe this was a challenge suggestion I had a few weeks ago after doing my entry for the temperature challenge. When I inspired by the movie 9 1/2 weeks. Now I got to think a while and come up with something else.

As for Gone With the Wind...Most remembered and most recreated moment from the movie was turning the green velvet draperies into the infamous green velvet dress.

Anyone know where I can find a willing Kevin Costner type to help me recreate the magic moment in Bull Durham? LOL that is the first thought that came to me was the bathroom scene with Kevin Costner and Susan Sarandon.

Oh well the next thought was I have my own little Dennis the Mennace just modernized about 50 years. This is going to be fun. I'm going to have to spend the next two days deciding on a movie then recreating it...I've been compared to Cindy Sherman recently....time to earn that comparison!

"Scarface"..show a dude with a scar on his face! Easy enough! Let's see...."The Good, The Bad & The Ugly", that should be easy too providing you know (of course you do) people who would fit the bill.........:)

Just be ready for the slew of "Doesn't meet challenge" comments from people who think that movies are only made in Hollywood ;)

frankly, i dont know why someone would even bother to enter a totally obscure scene from a totally obscure movie, if they were going to complain that no one had heard of it :) ..

it seems simple: either shoot something that's obvious and well known, or willingly and knowingly shoot something obscure - in which case you should be pre-ready to not complain :) ..

that's my ever-practical take, anyway ....

with the garden challenge going on and then this is anyone going to manage to put the two together and do Lady Chatterly's Lover? Afterall he was the gardener. Hmmm is that a worldly known movie or just the literary works of DH Lawerence known worldwide.

Which should make this extremely interesting...

I'm a fan of the Bollywood films, Kurasawa, film noir, etc. and I live in TEXAS... so bring 'em on.

The more obscure the better I say,, that way we won't have to be complaining,,,AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgh not another light saber!!!

or if I see that creature crawl out of the lagoon one more time I'm gonna spew.

How about 'hands on a hardbody' or 'mullet men' ?

What the heck is a "mullet man"...

sounds fishy to me.

I guess I'll have to change my scoring criteria then.

Movie I've seen & liked 8-10
Movie I've heard of and not seen 6-7
Movie I've seen & didn't like 4-5
Movie I've not heard of 2-3
Hollywood big budget flop 1

Should be finished voting in record time giving me the rest of the week to make fippant comments ;)

i'm not a subscriber, so i can't enter anyway.i had some great ideas for this challenge, but after readng some of this, i probly wouldnt've bothered entering. since if it's not 'men in black' or 'titanic' then no-one will know what it is and score it down. i thought this was a photography challenge?
07/29/2003 08:24:15 AM · #24
How about a spoof on a movie eg - "Matrix: Honey I shrunk Morpheus!" Would you vote for it?
07/29/2003 08:29:59 AM · #25
just dont come crying to me when you do a scene from a movie few have seen and the voting masses who only see the big Hollywood releases give you a low score ;0)

...
