Week after week it amazes me some of the comments left behind why would you say something like...There is always one, or oh yeah another flower or in the current challenge oh another lava light or I don't get this.
Why would you even bother leaving those kind of comments? They certainly aren't constructive and have nothing to do with the photo. I would much rather have someone say the focus is poor or the lighting is bad at least those are helpful than to have someone leave meaningless comments.
If they think I will check them as helpful they don't know me. |

maybe its time to add a button stating the comment was NOT helpfull to the comments section next to the one where it lets you check if the comment was helpfull when you go look at your comments.
And maybe if someone gives too many NOT helpfull comments they get 50 lashes with a wet noodle from the site council

Unfortunately you aren't going to stop everyone from being tactless, or make them be more verbose. You also aren't going to change everyone and make them see, rate and comment on each photo individually - on its own merit. Don't take me wrong - I agree with the basis of what you are saying... just don't see any way around it.
As far as "not helpful" ratings on comment go... I personally would like to see it remain positive reinforcement with clicking "helpful".
Regarding this whole thread.. I understand, I understand...however, it really belongs in the rant section.
You are welcome to continue it there.

| I think some people shouldn't be able to let comments I know I have gotten the same unhelpful comment from the same person more than once. |
