In case you were not aware of it, there is a neat little free download for Firefox Browsers (also free) which allows you to right click an image and view it at different zoom sizes.

It features various zoom sizes from: Custom through to 'fit to screen' and various percentages.

This is a great help when wanting to have a closer look at some challenge entries. Though there will be some pixelisation, full screen view can be quite acceptable for most photos. It's called IMAGE ZOOM. You'll need to be using Firfox, which is a great programme anyway...best of all...they are all FREE!

Let me know what you think...

Go to the mozilla site: //www.mozilla.com/firefox/

You will be able to download the latest browser, then go to their 'add ons' section and you should find it there. It's only a few k's and creates a right click option over any image.

I love it!

IIRC, it tries to steal you away to a web site the first time you run with it or upgrade. This screwed up session saver one time too. It's really impolite of it to do that ... unless I'm confusing it with a different extension, in which case I apologize to the extension team.

I think you might be confusing it with something else...ZOOM IMAGE is the name of the add on and it becomes part of the Firefox Browser

Unfortunately it doesn't work with Mozilla 1.7.12, only Firefox.

I'm honestly just curious, but why would you want to zoom someone's photo while critiquing it? Doesn't that sort of pixelate things, and essentially lower the quality?

I have one for firefox where you click with the right mouse on the image and scroll the middle mouse button, and it zooms/contracts the image -- I haven't found much use for it, personally.

That's what this tool is. Why I like it: I have a large monitor running at a very high resolution, and the images are quite small physically. I can click it up a notch or two and see what others with lower resolution are seeing; larger images. It's easy to disregard any minor pixelation issues that arise by so doing; on my setup, at least, they aren't a problem unless I zoom way in. But some images just beg to be seen a little bigger...

yep, and FIrefox is also a better broswer than IE. No more spyware and other stuff with Firefox..

I think you don't need this tool. The image zoom function is also implemented in Mouse Gestures. I hold the right mouse button clicked over the image and move the mouse to the lower right corner. 2x zoom. Repeat as often as you like, the reverse movement has the reverse effect. Works not only on images, but any web element.

I use OPERA as a browser at home and this allows you to set the zoom value of the page, so you can view it larger or smaller than it actually is - Very good browser too...

i believe i have the same plugin for a year or so. one thing i like is if you hold down the right click button on an image and use the scroll wheel it will resize the image right away.
