Okay, so I want to attach my 50mm to my 55-200. Can anyone tell me what ring I need for that? A name? I searched amazon, b&h, canon,... in vain. And I know from experience that I know more about SLRs than most Luxembourg resellers.

Oh, I should mention: both have a mount of 52mm.

Search B&H for "macro coupler."

Here is the direct link to them at B&H

I just bought a coupling ring on ebay from this guy. //stores.ebay.com/Eastok-Sundries_W0QQsspagenameZL2QQtZkm

If you don't find it there just email him as he probably has it. I think mine was $6 plus shipping and he sent it the day I ordered.

Thank you! So I take it that Canon don't manufacture any themselves?

I don't know if this is useful, but I just used tape when I did it. Both lenses had UV filters on, though.

AJ, so far I just posed one in front if the other, on a desk, but that meant I couldn't move. Tape is probably not stable enough, is it?

I could move about satisfactorily, as long as I made sure that the tape was pulled tight before sticking it down. Insulating tape would be no good, as it has too much 'give'. I certainly couldn't wave the camera about too enthusiastically and anyway, given the pitifully small DOF, I had to use the combination on a tripod in order to be able to get anything even remotely decent out of the setup.

I already have the Nikon Bellows Reversing Ring (BR-2) but I'm eager to try out macro couplers as well. I come handy with two MF Nikkors - 200mm and 50mm - so they should perform quite nicely together. The problem is, I don't have the slightest idea what "macro coupler" is in Finnish! Although I have browsed "endlessly" through www-catalogs and stuff I still haven't met any "macro couplers" in local stores. Maybe I should order straight from B&H.. or ask if my local dealer could do it for free.

No, that link is 52 to 58 :) I'll ask the local vendor if he has any. Shipping from B&H will probably cost more than the ring.
