Sorry all you veterns to the site... this maybe a newbie question and probably already answered somewhere. At any rate, I notice I am the only member online with the Pentax Optio 550, how do I upload sample photo's for this particular camera?

Also if I have uploaded pics in my portfolio are they available for everyone to see? or do they have to be entered in a challenge?

Welcome, Chacho.

For all cameras you do the same thing to upload. Use your software program on your computer. Resize the image to 640 pixels on the longest side. Create a JPEG file and save on your hard drive. Go to your DPC Portfolio page and click on Browse. Find the JPEG file on your hard drive. Click Upload. There it is.

When you have uploaded some pictures, we can all enjoy them.

Good luck.

I think what he was asking is how he can upload sample photos to dpc so other people who click his camera model will see pictures samples. I believe, though I'm not positive, that the highest ranking photos (with a possible min. score) of all the pictures taken with users with that specific camera are used as the sample images. So after you enter a challenge (if you meet the min. score requirement for sample photos, if it even exists) Then the photo you entered in the challenge (after it's been scored and ranked) should probably be the sample for your camera model.

The second question, yes if you upload pictures to your portfolio they are visible to users who look at your profile/portfolio. They do not need to be entered in a challenge to be visible to others.
