anyone use this program? i downloaded the trial and it seems great except it has this reallly really annoying scrolling bug. if you try to scroll any way other than clicking and holding the scroll bar, it suddenly scrolls mega fast and then kind of locks up either for awhile or completely. anyone else experience this?

CompuPic does these sorts of batch image adjustments. Might be worth a look.

ACDSee works great for me, though I use a combination of ACDSee Classic and ACDSee v4. Classic for browsing, and when I hit Ctrl+E (edit), it opens v4's FotoCanvasLite editor, which is great for doing simple alterations... plus it saves the EXIF data.

Also, just for rotating resizing, VuePrint, last I checked, wasn't a bad solution-

I like the fact that I can view images in ZIP-files with ACDSee. I haven't run into another imagebrowser that is capable of doing that yet.

Irfanview does batch resamples if that's what you are looking for.. you should give this a try since it's a freebie...

I love ACDSee. To scroll an image, just click on it and drag it where you want. What could be more simple? You can also use the arrow keys to scroll up and down (and left and right) in an image. Don't forget about the lossless jpg transform. :)

I also love ACDSee. I don't have any problems with it locking up. I like the full screen view for getting the largest image to view your pictures. If you have a scroll button on your mouse, you just use that to scroll through the entire file of photos. You can delete and rename very easily. I have ACDSee v3.1b (came with my HP printer). Only thing I don't like is the crop tool--I think it is retarded. So I usually just "Shell Open" into Picture It! and crop there unless I need the exif data.

interesting. i hooked up a scroll mouse to my laptop and now it scrolls perfectly. before, with the touch pad and mouse button it was messing up bigtime, but it's useable like this.

I am currently doing some precursory comparisons between acdsee and breezebrowser. both seem like solid apps, though i like acdsee a little better. but one thing which breezebrowser seems to do much better is generating html based albums. breezebrowser allows you to create page templates, and also generates navigational tools right in the same page where the image is viewed. acdsee does not seem to do this.

Am I missing something? Anyone else have any recommendations for an app which can automate the 'web album' creation process?

thanks!

I'd back up your opinion that BreezeBrowser is really excellent at generating HTML pages. I especially liked the fact that you can easily edit the templates. I did a CD with about 10 distinct galleries, and about 2000 images and used BreezeBrowser to auto generate the whole thing. I had to customise a couple of the pages to create a 'front page' for the galleries, but it handled the whole thing very effectively.

Good software.

I am totally unable to get ACDSee to acquire my images WITH EXIF data! I can get it to acquire, but the EXIF does not come down with the image. I end up using the crappy Canon ZoomBrowser to acquire...

After using acdsee and breezebrowser pretty hard for about a week, I finally bought breezebrowser. The interface is not quite as slick, and it's not quite as feature-rich, but I find it to be a much more efficient & useable application. The things it does, it does quite well - better than acdsee IMHO. I especially like the html generation. Very easy, fast and customizable. If you have not checked it out yet, I highly recommend it! Especially if you are still trying to get the gawd-awful ZoomBrowser to do your work - my gawd that app sucks!)

I rarely actually but shareware apps (As someone on another thread mentioned, poverty sucks), but this one I happily ponied up my $35.

You can check out breezebrowser here

Do either program's HTML generation tools allow you to insert any EXIF data from the shot into the created pages?

afaik, breezebrowser lets you insert any and all of the EXIF data. You can customise it to the
n-th degree.
