one of my photos on Photodirect website

Never really considered this to be one of my best, but they did. Go figure.

What does everybody else think?

Here's the other 4. so out of 35 so far, 5 are considered a 9+. And most are not the ones that I usually consider to be 9+.

It's kind of nice to have a stock place rate your images.

I do really like the second photo... However, having said that, now that you spoiled me with your recent ribbon winning shot... I regret to say that most things I see now pale by comparison.

I just picked up my film from Mesa Arch and Maroon Bells. I can't wait to get my damn scanner fixed.

All are breath taking!! But I had to come back three times before it would let me see the image instead of just the keywords etc. Perhaps that's why comments are slow??

The site does seem painfully slow. They must need to upgrade their server and/or line.

I can't wait for you to get your damn scanner fixed either! ;-) hehe

I think someone said they are planning an upgrade this year....though I'm not sure which part of the year they mean. Hopefully it's sooner than later.

It is strange how their ratings work. I had a shot or two that they rated 6 or 7 and I thought they'd score better. Then, the ones I expected to be low scored higher. It's weird. I guess they are rating on salability, mostly..?

500mm f/4 IS? I'm jealous. Just remember me when you have hand-me-downs. ;-)

Good luck, Brent, though I don't you'll need it.

I think the WOW photos are just the pretty/jump off the page images.
I have 16 WOW photos on www.photographersdirect.com and none of them have sold.
My sales have been from generic animal shots.
Great site and I love the daily emails requests as they give photographers an idea of what images photo buyers are looking for.

I was wondering how well those WOW! images sold. So how are your sales on there?

Sales?
My second to highest sales rate after Alamy.
A couple of the sales were $600 US each.
Great when Chris (the owner of the site) only charges 20% of the sales price.
I only have about a hundred images on the site as I just tend to upload mainly for requests.
Also good that the site reads the file info (keywords) on uploading.
So any sales yourself?

Just uploaded last week. None yet. the deadline for the request is 3/31. So I have to wait for awhile.

Your little prairie dog photo looked oddly familiar *g*.
Turns out I have something similar, but yours posed nicer for you :-)

it's suppose to be a ground squirrel. DO they have prairie dogs in Glacier National Park?

I was told it is a prairie dog. I also googled it - ground squirrels don't look anything like this.

Looks like a Richardson's Ground Squirrel to me.

You said...
"It's weird what people think is a WOW! photo"

"Wow!" is in the eye of the beholder. Capture images that you personally like and you eventually will hit a cord that touches many.

no prairie dogs in glacier national park

Richardson's Ground Squirrel

Columbian Ground Squirrel

It's one of these two.
