my own: The only bad photograph is the one not taken. All the rest are learning experiences.

Not really photography "related" but my favorite of all time comes from Vincent van Gogh - "Admire as much as you can. Most people do not admire enough."

Don't you mean "...bear a finished painting."?

If you're going to be profound, you should at least take the care to proofread.
