I take my shots on 6mp setting, giving a file of 2848x2136 =1.5mb

proir to my son fiddling with my computer I used Ps cs1 image sized to 600x450 and wasable to load challenge entries .
now this size is over the 150k limit and I can only get a max of 400x200 odd.
compare my windmill shot with my old house entries .

how do I get things normal again

Are you using Photoshop CS?

Are you going to file then save for web ? If so then you have a quality adjustment top right and you can change the kb size that way. Saving for web is the easiest way to do this for entries

It sounds like your JPG quality setting could be set very high. If you back it off a little you should be able to get much smaller file sizes.

If you are using Photoshop CS:
1. When you are done editing goto Image > Image Size.
2. On you largest side H or V put in 640X and click ok.
3. Goto File > Save for Web. A box with your picture will appear.
4. Right below Done on the right side you will see 'presets' and an arrow. Click on the arrow and goto 'Optimize for file size'.
5. A box will pop up. Enter 150K and and under 'start with click on current setting. And under 'Use' click on Current Slice. Click ok.
6. Now save and your done.
