I'm new to DPC and am trying to resize my photo. When I resize it to the appropriate dimensions, the edges of the subject in my photo get all weird. I use Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10.

i dont have the software so im not sure whats really happening but it sounds like its a bad resize algorithm. you can always try and use a free photo editor like gimp. quite a few people around here use it. and gimpShop which is a hack for gimp attempts to mimic the layout of photoshop.

I looked at gimp, but the file size is rather big, and I don't want to install it. I would rather just use what I have. Does any one else have any suggestions?

I'm running XP, and I have the Image Resizer on my computer. It's listed under the Microsoft PowerToys. Just right click and you can resize the image. It might take a few tries to make sure it's the right dimensions AND file size, but it's a small download.

(scroll down until you find the download for the resizer on the right)

Good luck!

I just use Microsoft Office Picture Manager. It is part of Office 2003 I beleive. Just right click on the picture and select open with Microsoft Office Picture Manager. You can do VERY basic picture editing there but I just use it to resize my pictures.

Hope that helps
