I submitted a photo to the Night on the Town and after reading a comment I looked at the photo and didn't see it but then I was talking to another member and I asked him to see if he could see a little square in my entry. He checked and he could see it. I immediately sent Terry a request to dq it that I had submitted a photo that had been spot edited by mistake. I saved an editing I did over top of the copy I had for the challenge as well as saving it with a new name to print.

When I first read the comment I thought that the little splotch I saw was what was noticed but after talking with another member and him sending me a copy he pulled from his browser I could see the editing and on checking both copies of the file I realized I had saved it over top of the other.

I am sorry everyone for my mistake, and rather than hide it I felt I would address it to everyone and appologize for the mistake.

It's this kind of thing that can start World wars you know. What an outrage to try to make amends with an apology.

Have you any idea the trauma you've caused everyone? It's unacceptable and I think the only course of action is to resign from DPC.

:)

Just curious: What was your score doing (score)?

Sorry to hear about it.

I'm curious what shot it was? Since it's out of the challenge, can you give us a link?

Anna,
Sorry to hear about your oversite. Look at the good side, now you don't have to keep hitting that refresh button.
Looking forward to seeing your next submission.

In My Humble Opinion, I have no idea what that acronym means.
07/10/2003 01:16:14 PM · #10
It may be worth noting that acronyms only save time if your reader knows what they mean and you don't have to spell it out (along with a whole new sentence) just to explain what it means!!

Personally (or IMHO!!) I think they're a bit lazy and really belong in txt msg land.

I thought this was text messaging? Maybe Jon is talking about instant messaging like MSn messenger or AOL AIM, I think Yahoo has one too.

Anyways... back on topic. It's good to see someone fess up and take responsibility. Obviously yours was a mistake, much respect. Aloha

Hey at least I admitted my mistake and requested the dq myself when I realized what I did. =o)

I estimated that I would finish up in the mid 4s even before the challenge began and that is exactly where it was this morning when I read the comment about the shape in my photo. It obviously wasn't showing up on my screen or I would have noticed it before the voting began and unsubmitted.

Thank you Jimmy and Dick...now to make up for my mistake no spot editing in my nude submission...lol I better not say that I might decide to touch up a beauty mark or something before midnight.

Nah, text messaging is really popular in Europe. It's basically sending messages between cell/mobile phones. It usually cheaper than calling. Messages are limited in size, like 300 characters or something so words tend to get chopped up qutie a bit.

This can be SOOOO easy to do! if I've been working on another project in Photoshop for something else, or if I've just completed a photo for DPC that allows spot editing, it is so easy to forget what you're doing. At least for me! It sounds like your situation was different, Anna, but for me, I've sometimes got to watch myself!
