Not too many entries or discussions on this one. What do you think the shots will consist of?

A lot of nature shots and a lot of camouflaged face paint shots.

Could be wrong though.

If I could get a shot of my large black dog asleep om our black rug I would! I trip over her enough times!

The best shot, will score the lowest, because people will not be able to find what was hiding. :-)

I had this shot entered for a few days...but I'm entering single light source instead (hopefull it is the right decision...)

Let me know what you think...I bet it would of scored high 5's low 6's, maybe.

This is something that really interests me; however, I have a feeling there will be a lot of nature pics...especially bugs or lizards that change with their environment. Also female bird species...

I never had the opportunity to shoot something like that this past summer, and well now, it's out of season for that.

I can't come up with any homemade ideas that would be good. *sigh*

I think this highlights a potential problem with the exclusive challenges - we need to be pretty certain that the two are of similar appeal. However, there's an upside: who'll bet me how much that the ribbon winners in Canouflage are lower scores than those in Light Source? And guess which one I've entered ...

I would have given this a 5. There is no camouflage in this image. Dakness IMHO cannot be considered camouflage. Just my 2 cents of course.

I think darkness can be camoflauge...but I guess It would have been a pretty loose interpretation of the challenge. prolly a good thing I'm not entering it...cause I'm in love with my other entry;)

So far I have been true to my theory, that entering the less "appealing" challenge is getting me better scores by pushing me to think beyond pretty pictures of waterfalls and fall foliage.

I entered Camo. And no, its not a picture of me in the blue jeep with the blue camo hat either, lol. :)(is that photo even IN my portfolio?? I may have jinxed myself here and will have to show that now, its imfamous in-real-life-land. lol)

I'm betting a solid .5 difference between the top single light source and the top Camoflage entry. I'm hoping for a solid six on this one, seeing as how there are so few entries. Though, theres still six hours to go or so..

shhhhhhhhh don't talk about this too much or more people will enter. We want LESS comptition, not MORE :)

I had fun with this one. Vote 10 on the polar bear sitting in the snow eating vanilla ice cream from a white bowl.

I entered a very personal photograph that I don't expect to do well

Teehee! I wonder how many pictures of ALL WHITE titled "SnowHare in Blizzard" there will be? and I wonder if it will drop from 114 to 90 entries just because I said that.

JPR - well, I always vote the daring entries very high, you might do better than you think. :)

only if I could reshoot

Might be a few like this

My shot is so camoflauged, it won't even be seen in the challenge. LOL

Against my better judgement I have gone and entered. My shot is way out the box and will get jumped on and spat out but who cares, I like it.
Good nature shots will do well and so they should as mother nature provides the best camouflage.

Yeah wouldn't that be hilarious. Submit a photo of leaves and nothing else. See if people can see where the camouflage is ;)

Just shot and entered my idea, I've had it all week, but having such a small number of entrants bolstered my resolve I guess.

Here's hoping!

Of course, there'll probably be 250 entries when I get back this evening. :o)
11/15/2005 07:25:19 PM · #24
i entered this one just now. it's different, and definitely interesting to look at IMO. by that measure, it'll get a 4.2 max.
11/15/2005 07:26:23 PM · #25
i would have given this a 10.

and probably this would have won a ribbon.

frustrated yet? lol
