I was just wondering what type of people we have on here - from what professions, we have these occasionally where people ask where others come from so I thought I'd ask what we do for a living.

Also if you could do any job in the world what whould it be and why - I have a feeling that we may have a few saying "The President of the USA" "cus they could do a better job than he".

I am a database and product analyst - sounds exciting but it is just excel spreadsheets and loads of formula's, it keeps me busy and I enjoy it.

If I could do anything it would be to go to a less fortunate place in the world and help them for a year or two build shelter help with the crops etc. I think it would be very fulfilling to be able to help other out.

Well, up until last week I could say that I've always worked in retail. Last week, however, I went out on a limb and got a job at a local photo studio. I'm having sooo much fun. I'm the second photog. Yippie!

If I could do anything, I think I'd want to be a photog for National Geographic. I'm a sucker for cameras and travel, so that's where I'd be...

I'm generally an exploration geologist (when the price of gold is over $380) and an Info Tech consultant (when the price of gold is below $380).

If I could do ANYTHING?.... Porn star.

i'm a data technician - type up reports when needed but mostly chat on DPC all day :) or doing my school work for my bachelors degree in business administration.

if i could do anything i would be a forensic scientist, but the fact that i get sick to my stomach over dog poo or a smashed bug, i dont think that would be the profession for moi.

I guess you could say I'm a graphic designer, we have our own graphics business... I make shirts, hats, signs, magnets; if it has to do with advertising we pretty much deal with it.

Choice of any job....? not sure, professional photographer would be nice ;) lol

I'm a clinical retinal photographer and technician for an Ophthalmology clinic. I also handle the IT, database management, web, and graphic design for our office. Basically Jack of all trades.... master of none.

If I could be anything, it would be a photographer. I'm drifting more toward landscape and fine art photography, pregnancy, and baby photography (even though I suck at it). Oh well, you gotta start somewhere!

Currently...you want the reality or the fantasy, i mean, the party story?
Reality: stay at home dad that works part time as a waiter. Decent money and i like my job.

Story...I have my own business. I sell stuff on ebay, AND i'm atarting aphotography business. Here is my card....

Ideal job..Bill gates. Gobs of money, all you have to do is give it away, I mean, you can tell 10,000 people what to do, and if they give you a hard time you can buy their houses, cars, kids and have them deep sixed in teh ocean. And you don't have to kiss a@@ like a politician.

No really, I'm a Treasure Hunter. (sounds, cool, mysterious, adventurous) - and it's TRUE. I mean I am looking for that pot of gold (or winning lottery ticket). Then I can pretend to be Bill Gates!

I run the datacenter for a local manufacturing facility. Not very exciting, I know.

If I could have any job it would be Phil's from The Amazing Race. He gets to travel, hang out with all types of people and from what I've seen doesn't do a whole lot but show up at the mat. Would leave lots of time for photography :)

I'm an elementary school principal in Utah where we have lots of children and few funds. So, I am experienced at making anything out of nothing for everyone at anytime.

My ideal job would be exactly what I do now as a wife, mom, PTA volunteer, church volunteer, rising photographer and principal, but I'd have twice the time to do half the work.

I'm a student right now, and play at being a freelanc photog

Anything? Well, sticking close to reality, I'd like to be a college English professor and also shoot nature stuff for a nice magazine.

Fantasy - I really dream of being Captain of the starship Enterprise...sorta' taking Picard's place. :)

I'm a certified school counselor and director of a program serving pregnant and parenting teens enrolled in a local public school district. I work with hormonal teenage girls most of the time. ;) I coordinate medical and social services, work with physician's offices regarding prenatal, postpartum, and infant care, and I do a lot of negotiating between the teachers and the students. My program provides free counseling, transportation, child care (we have a day care on site), parenting skills classes, and various other important services so that each student can continue with their education. I spend a lot of time in hospitals and in homes. I have been doing this for four years now and I can't imagine doing anything else. I've seen a lot of kids graduate and make successes out of their lives, despite the circumstances. It's rewarding beyond measure. Prior to this I was the lead middle school counselor at a 7th-8th grade campus for three years, and before that a certified teacher (theatre arts and speech) for three years.

If I could do anything in the world, I really don't think I would change...unless I could set my own hours and sleep a little bit later each day. ;)

I'm a photographer. I shoot anything for cash. (kidding, sort of...) I've been a pro for about 10 years. My first job as an aviation photographer. Use to hang out of airplanes (we popped the back window out) and shoot other airplanes or the ground.

I'm a test engineer, basically I get to break stuff and get paid for it.

I'd like to be a professor and teach engineering, but I need my PhD and that's a lot of classes. I also want to work in industry for several more years. In my opinion, too many professors have little or no practical engineering experience doing the type of work the majority of their students will do upon graduation.

Student..Dual majoring in Photojournalism and Art.

I don't have a job...I spend my days in class (sometimes) and my nights...well, that's for me to know.

I make money here and there though, especially on ebay. And I've sold a few of my pictures so far, but mostly to people I know well.

My dream job would be a rich vagabonder. So I could just tavel the world and take pictures and experience everything it has to offer.

I'm currently a student in Early Childhood Education, as well as a nearly full time nanny. When I'm not watching other kids, my husband and I are behaving like kids ourselves :-)

If I could have any job.....wow......the truth is, if I had the money to--I would do all kinds of things for a while and then do something different. My heart is in teaching, but some photo gigs would be pretty sweet, it would be fun to be a rock star :-) I've always said if I won the lottery, I would just go to college for 15 years and take whatever classes I wanted to and see what majors I come out with in the end! It would also be great to be a writer and publish something somewhere. I'd like to record some children's songs.

And there are days when I still dream of being the first female Major League Baseball player....lord knows the Cubs need my help!

I work as a telecommunications analyst for a fortune 50 company. (shoot me, please). Previously, I have also held jobs in Information Technology, everything from helpdesk, to systems/network administration.

I'd love to be a photographer instead.

I'm a tree planter in the summer, and usually a coffee-shop worker anytime else... though right now I don't have a job, and am kinda thinking of trying to get something more official sounding....

Eventually I'd like to work in International Peace and Conflict Transformation.

I am an Estate Gardener. I work at a large estate in Berkshire UK, it was John Lennon's house and where the Imagine video was shot.

That's my real life work, my fantasy would be to win the lottery and just travel where and when the fancy took me.
