Where do you go in windows(xp)-- to find out what version of DirectX you have installed?

You may be able to find it under add/remove programs in the control panel.

Perfect!

Is 9.0C the latest?

Yes

If it isn't the latest, it is certantly very close. When last I was programming in directX, it was 9C. There may have been a minor update (9D?) but unless you absolutly have to have the latest, it wouldn't be worth the download...my opinion at least.
