I like this one a lot -- the clouds give it a sense of presence I like. However, I do think the large black area at the top is a bit excessive -- might consider croping it down a bit.

The tech on this is actually kinda cool - It was made up on the fly as I am really just learning photoshop.

The original image was shot at 1/400 at f5 and was a little flat for my taste...

I wanted to make it more "dramatic"
So the steps were.

Imported Raw using CS2 Camera Raw - Exposure set to 0 and bumped the contrast a liitle.

2. Levels - to richen the colors.
3. Channel mixer - Increased the red in the red channel and blue in the blue channel
3a. tweeked the color balance just a bit to give the moon a bit of a orange red cast
4. New layer - with layer mask
5. Levels again really saturating the top and bottom
6. on the layer mask did a gradient top black bottom transparent and another in the reverse. That way the moon wasn't affected by the level change but the top and bottom sky was.
7. contrast +5 brightness -1
8. USM
9. crop for 3:2 with the idea of the rule of thirds in mind (it is a little off...but oh well)
9. save for web
