Can some one help me please?? I STILL do not understand the rules concerning borders.

The rules state:

"Borders: Your submission may include a border, but the border may not contain any text, clip art, photographs, or other artwork. "

But yet some recent winners clearly have "photographs" on the border. Also, this is done by "Selections" which I also thought was not-Hoyle. Nothing against anyone's images, I just unclear as to what's legal.

Any help???

Here is a recent discussion on this topic... Doesn't really clear things up. But I think that the basics are that it is not adding the photo TO the border, rather placing the border ON TOP OF the photo.Borders in Photo

Just a note on your comment about borders being by selections - personally I use the cropping tool and drag the sides out to create a coloured border, so this should be within the rules anyhow. There's probably lots of ways but I find this the easiest.

No, I'm actually asking about images that overlay the borders. This (in artwork) is called "profiling", where a particular part of an image extends on (or outside) the border.

And by "borders", do they mean only those borders drawn by a photo-editing program?

I dunno, I'm sure as time goes by these questions will all decided.

Thanks.

Could you give us an example of a photo you are talking about? I believe we are talking about the same borders.
