I ran across this guy's site over at another place I hang out. His bio says he is an amatuer...If I could hit his level of amatuerism I guarentee I would quit my day job...
Check it out Joey (and anyone who likes goth, dark portraits (as in lighting), grunge and just breaking the rules type photography) I know you'll like it.

He has commercial work listed on his site, including professional wedding and fashion photography. His bio lied, he is a professional. If that guy is an amatuer, i'm the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots.

I think what he means as amateur is that he just started, (so he's got talent naturally), he probably doesn't mean it career wise, maybe he doesn't even know how to use amateur correctly.
And as for Joey getting ideas from him... I don't think he will, Joey's not that kind of person. He's got his own ideas that he creates naturally.
