Due to multiple reasons, the images currently in 2nd, 3rd and 5th have been disqualified. Congrats to Joey and Jean on their new ribbons. And congrats to everyone on the new placements.

AHhaaahha, can we give this an official catchphrase, like, "The Joey Lawrence Effect"?

Congrats to the new ribbons.

But methinks there are going to be some very unhappy people on here later....

Wow so many DQ's. I wonder what percentage of all entries are breaking the rules. It would be interesting if SC 'audits' a particular Challenge by checking every single entry. It would be a lot of work for the SC; but it might reveal something about the integrity of our community.

I am very new to this site but I wonder the same thing. If only the top 4 or 5 have to send in their original photos (and those who have a DQ requested during voting), how do any of us know that the others have not broken the rules as well?

ohhhh wow. now 5th place in my 4th challenge.
I've learned so much in the past 2 months on this site, you people are great, the comments have helped alot (along with 2 new monitors, my pic in the bubble challenge really did have a black background.. on my broken monitor) lol
but hands on learning has done more for me than the last 6 months of reading websites/magazines/books.
thanks to everyone who's commented
your thoughts are really appreciated

I loved your shot. I only gave 3 10's and yours was one of them.

Well done!! That's a great achievement! You mention that the comments have helped you so I am now going to be terribly rude and suggest that you also comment more to help others!
Please take this suggestion calmly!

I agree Riponlady,
but I'm also new to this, learning fast, I'm no expert, so I don't yet feel comfortable making suggestions to ppl with more experience..
but as a rule to myself I will give reasoning as to why I vote 9/10 or 3down (only done that a couple times I think)

Jeez...when I saw the results I thought: 'Now Joey would almost have gotten yet another ribbon.' Well, congrats to the new winners, then.

Well, ultimatly, DPC.com didn't like my usage of adjustment layers, had find a way to use a gradient effect to adjust levels/light, but it seems it goes in the line of 'effect pixels'... So there goes my first ribbon lol.

Thanks for everyone who voted for it, i keep the ribbon in my heart ;)
Sorry for the other DQs, wonder 'why'.

It's still a great picture RedOak. Be sure to add it to your portfolio so people can keep it as a favorite. (The DQ screws that up.)

A DQ doesn't necessarily mean the photographer cheated. Lost originals (in NightShy's case), incorrect date settings on the camera, simple misunderstandings, and plain old absent-mindedness can all lead to a DQ. That doesn't mean the photographer was trying to break the rules. Very few DQs are from people who intentionally cheated to win a virtual ribbon.

Scalvert's right...I had no idea importing my pics through photoshop with erase my exif data. :-(

Congrats to the new winners! :-)

Indeed, Katie (NightShy) messed up her exif by saving over the original by accident. She had to shoot other things durig the week so she deleted the picture on her camera thinking her file was safe on the computer, which it normally would be but she opened it in PS and rotated it. I'm pretty sure this is what happened, either that or loading her files through Photoshop messed up the exif. It's really a shame, her shot was awesome! :-/

UGH... CHICKS!

Actually very few of the dq's seem to be blatant cheating.

I think I would be running naked through the streets screaming, "MY RIBBON! MY RIBBON!"

Not a fair comparison. You do that anyway.
