10/06/2005 09:36:59 AM · #5
um..checkout clause 6 first! Your best photo becomes their property!
10/06/2005 09:37:49 AM · #6
Thanks for letting us know, i too will be entering.

be careful if you are a freelancer though as:
"All entries become the property of the Promoter."

The T&C's do not mention copyright over the original image. The site entry instructions asks you to save out a copy of your photo. As far as I am concerned, they can keep the 800*600 export that makes up my entry. The original 7 megapixel shot and any future derivatives belong to me...

;^)

aaah yes the photo they have would become their property..not the original. Is that how others see it?

yep thats what i think but as blurredvision indicated i think it would be very hard to make a billboard or something with a 800X600 print.
If you dont win and they want the original just say you lost it ;)

I think for $25k who cares if they own the image. How many of you would make that money from it anyway. Even if you were a runner up, yuou would still be paid $1000 for it. Since this is for strickly amertures photographers, I doubt many would make that kind of money easily.

And if you don't win, then they don't become the owner of it.

I heard they had around 20,000 entries on Friday. Maybe they've shut the link down! Hope not...I'd like to add some.

Its working again today, but perhaps the large amount of enteries kind of killed their server.
10/09/2005 06:22:05 PM · #18
I entered 2 this morning and then it failed on my 3rd attempt
10/09/2005 06:29:38 PM · #19
try again. i think its just busy. i entered 6 this morning. a couple failed first time but worked next time. enter as many as you can because at the end of the day it costs you nothing and if you can actually win something, it would be fantastic.
10/09/2005 06:39:10 PM · #20

10/10/2005 01:55:36 AM · #21

10/10/2005 06:22:32 PM · #22
If anyone here wins anything, I hope you share it with the rest of us. They received more than 50,000 photos though so its a tough one.
10/10/2005 06:29:04 PM · #23
oh darn, I didn't realize you could submit more than one photograph. Is it too late to enter any others? Can someone post the winners in here for those who cannot get Australian tv. (I am an aussie abroad at present)
