yes, i'm one of those morons who got his color wheel turned cockeyed... yes, i know what complementary colors are, but i was tired and rushed and... and... oh forget it...

it was close, dang it... give me at least a 2... out of pitty, maybe?

what's worse is that my outtake was red/green... doh.

From the rules:

"A user may request removal of their own photo, for any reason, but only if they have not been disqualified for any reason in their last 25 submissions. Eligibility is determined only by the user’s most recent 25 submissions, and does not "accumulate." Please note that subsequent DQs within the next 25 submissions may incur a penalty as set forth below.

Is using black and white really that much of an abstraction? They may not be on the color wheel, but does placing them next to eachother not compliment both of them?

as tempting as that is, i think i'd rather take my lumps and learn a lesson... the only reason to pull the photo would be to avoid the negative effect of my own dunder-headedness on my overall average.

from looking through the submissions, it appears i'm not alone this week...

Some folks have commented on my photo not meeting the challenge, but it is definately 2 of the complimentary colors on this site - //www.colourtherapyhealing.com/colour/complementary_colours.php

I think that site has a lot of mistakes on it, besides this challenge was for complementary colours, not complimentary colours (different words, different meanings).

Officially, black and white aren't colors. They are tints and tones.

I think the problem here is that the challenge says "complEmentary", not "complImentary". Someone had cleverly pointed this out in a thread before the challenge. "ComplEmentary" apparently refers to "completes", thus opposites on the color wheel "complete" each other. "ComplImentary" generally means free (as in "complimentary admission") or a nice remark ("what a nice use of complEmentary colors".

So, unfortunately for quite a few people, black & white doesn't really work.

oops. i'm very slow ...
