If anyone owning a Sony DSC F717 hasn't heard about the AF focus problems then you may want to read this.

Thanks for posting this.
This is on our shortlist of cameras to choose from for our upcoming purchase - if we do go for the F717 we can ensure we buy a model with a later serial number - not affected by the problem.

RLS are you experiencing the problems? If so, are they (Sony) doing something for you?

| Call Sony to repair the focus issue. Guaranteed great service in 3-5 working days. But check your serial number first if you are affected. |

No real problems... Called SONY today and they are sending FED EX to pick up my camera at my office tomorrow. Said I would get it back in 2-3 days. I'll let everyone know how this experience goes.

Quick question about the 717. I see people that have posted a focal length of 10mm. I thought the 717 has a min focal length of 38mm? They say they are using the zeiss lens. How do they get a 10mm focal length?

I am thinking to purchase 717
I live in the UK,Has any one ordred this camera on the web from the USA,any problems Do you recommend this camera

Just a couple of generic warnings, rather than specific to this cam:
- importing anything from the US to the UK can mean a nasty import tax & VAT hit when it arrives, so take that into account when you price it.
- the warranty may not be valid outside the US.
- you'll need a mains adapter for any US electrical plugs that the camera comes with, eg battery recharger.

The EXIF info in jpegs, shows the actual focal length. The advertised focal length is shown as equivalent of the 35mm film focal length.
