Anyone interested?

I'm interested....but don't have the money :)

I've been thinking of upgrading to the 20D when my taxes get back...which is usually the end of January/beginning of February.

Dell is selling a new 20D for only $1124. Your price is pretty high even with the grip. But you are smart to sell it now before the 5D becomes avaialble.

I don't think the 5D is competing with the 20D so much as the 1Ds.

The why do they have it listed for 1499?
dells 20d page

...and with the discount it's still $1,349.10

I'm selling it solely based on buying a 1D Mark II right now. Now I understand why Fredmiranda bans people for price policing...it's very annoying.

See the thread Great Deal on Canon Lenses>>>>>Must See and reference Telehubbie's post on page 4.

yeah i hate the price police... If it's a bad deal, most people won't buy it. Then the price comes down naturally to increase demand... So don't complain about prices.

What is "price policing?"

Why shouldn't people complain about prices when they think they are too high? This isn't Ebay or a buy & sell forum like FM.

If your not even interested in buying it, then why say anything at all. I don't think you even checked Dell's site to see if the price you said was even accurate. I paid over $1500 for it from calumet. It's practically brand new. I even put OBO ( or best offer) to show I was willing to deal. I checked ebay before I posted to see what they were going for. I'm not trying to rip some one off.

You wouldn't go into your local shop and tell everyone that they could get it for less online would you? That's pretty rude.

For the same reason that TroyMosley started that other thread, and that Telehubbie posted to it-- to help other dpc'ers to spend their photo hardware dollars wisely.

Why don't you put it up for sale in a proper selling place, like ebay or FredM, and see what the market will bear?

I would, if it came up. And I'd definitely tell people online if I knew of a place offering what they were looking for at a cheaper price than they were seeing it. If MeThoS is happy with his asking price, there's no reason to get bent out of shape when people point out it's higher than others.

My point is that he referred to a price that Dell isn't even offering, at least not that I can find. So misinformation is being propagated. I could easily have put it on Ebay first. I was trying to give someone here a break first.

When I bought my 20D I went to a local camera store and quoted them exactly what I could get it for online, to the penny including S&H, and asked them to match it. They didn't, but they came down to where the difference was small enough that I was happy to pay it and walk out of the store with my new cam in hand. Questioning prices is just a part of being a smart consumer.

I think he was referring to this website:
Slick Deals that was posted in the forum he mentioned.....

EDIT: Just went to check Dell with the coupon mentioned....it's expired ... so not longer any good!
