NYC GTG......(OCT.????) maybe....

Hello guys/girls I was just wondering if anyone would like to have another NYC meet or GTG, maybe the begining of October. Only reason I suggest October is because on October 8th & 9th is openhousenewyork. What this is places in New york city's 5 boros will be open to the public (lots of photo op's) I went last year. Its nice just alot of walking to get from place to place. Well on the site for the openhousenewyork they will hopefully have some place up soon on the list that will be open. Last year they had the Grand Army Plaza (the big arc in front of prospect park) open which was cool cause I walked up the spiral stairs case to the top and got some cool shots of the park, also alot more place I went to.......

I would be interested, although that's also prime foliage season... hmmm decisions

Bear Mountain park. Hiking during the day to a lake or something. Then climb on top of the mountain to watch the sunset. This one will probably require driving.

If anyone is interested I'll post some maps and ideas I had.

Check recent threads... Soni is coming to the eastern seaboard area for ffall folliage about that time... there are a bunch of people who wanted to get together for that...

I'd like to head up to New York, and hang out with some DPC'ers. I'll keep an eye on the thread and try to join in on the fun. I think I like the idea of scenic New York state for foliage than an inner city trip, but open minded to anything chosen.

I'd like to join in. openhousenewyork sounds interesting and bear mountain is an excellent place for fall foliage. Also the zoo up there is great for some shots.

cool quite a few people so far....... bear mountain sounds cool also never been there I would love to go.
maybe we can do 2 meets like the meet before last and one woud be to bear mountain for those who would be interested.

although i won't be in town to join you...i went to OHNY last year (got to climb onto the highline and the top of the highbridge water tower...so cool!) and had a great time. i highly recommend this outing.

and! this year...they have included the crysler tower (the legendary penthouse--starry ceiling and cool triangular windows...).

and! there is an official ohny photo contest.

I know it's probably been done but I never get tired of Central Park. There's always something new to photograph there and the cool autumn air will do us all wonders.

We could also Lunch or Snack at the Boathouse Cafe. It'll kinda be like "When Harry Met Sally" but with lots of Canons and Nikons and lenses and polarized filters and...

Outside of that, I'm game for anything that has variety.
