Kavey has decided to sit out planning the next GTG (and who can blame her, since she's organised the last 5!), so I've volunteered to get things going this time, since I've been to all but one of them.

I've got a couple of ideas of what we could do, and when we could meet:

22/23 Oct - General Shooting
29/30 Oct - General Shooting
5/6 Nov - Fireworks!
26/27 Nov - After-Dark / Christmas Decorations
3/4 Dec - After-Dark / Christmas Decorations

The general shooting is the usual freestyle thing we've been doing so far, and we'd need to decide on a location to shoot as usual. If we want to do the fireworks shooting, we'd need to go to one of the big displays, either on one of the commons (I think Clapham and Streatham both have them), or one of the parks (such as Alexandra Palace). The after-dark shooting would be good to do along the Thames, but we'd need to agree on this early on, since I'd need to arrange photography permits for various locations (eg the eye & city hall). As for the Christmas decorations, a simple wander down Oxford Street and the like would encompass most of them, and could be combined with the after-dark shooting quite easily.

So... please let me know which shooting themes you're interested in, and if possible the weekends you'd prefer. I'll keep this thread updated with the latest.

----

It looks like the majority of people are able to come on the 29th Oct, so I've updated the thread title to reflect that. Now all we need to do is decide the little details like when & where :o)

--

More updates are further down the thread, but here's a quick update.

Attendees confirmed so far:

Manic
Jaam (+ Dave & Raymond)
Dragor (+ Mat ?)
DpDave
Jean (+ Mark)
Artan (+ Jago)
Legalbeagle
Andyro
jseyerle ?

We will be meeting at 4PM at Millbank Lounge Bar, just south of Westminster, for 4PM - for those of you that need one, here's a map of the location, and it should be just 5-10 minutes walk south of Westminster tube station (or 5-10 mins walk north of Pimlico tube, if you prefer). The reservation is under the name 'Hawkins'.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for stepping in - much much appreciated!
We're away in November so can't do the 5/6 date but can do the late November one. We should be able to do the 3/4 December one and possibly even the 29/39 October one.
However, we've got quite a lot of family stuff to slot in yet so not really sure on any of them.
Please go ahead and choose a weekend without weighting our availability and if we can come we'll let you know nearer the time!
:o)

I am going to London in the end of October so maybe if I will be there when the GTG will be then I would like to come ... that is if you want to have some Icelander with you :)

yeah, I can make most of those dates. End of october, beginning of november would be best.

The last two are good for me.

I would endeavour to come along whenever - hard to be sure of availability until nearer the time, but dates generally look good for me.

I have an unused airticket to the UK that I must use before November. Maybe I can try and make it to the GTG on the 29th October. I must see what the flights are like so it isn't definate yet but I will try my best to make it.

Well, unless they all organise for 29th Oct, I don't see any DPC Day things happening...

Oh, and *bump* :)

For the next 8 month I am away all week so weekends are crammed full of family things.

That being said the 29th Oct looks good at the moment...

Do double? me please - there's every chance we won't be able to make any of the dates so I don't want my dates to weigh in on your choices.

Topping for more people to see the thread.
