Hello again,

I may be in the eye of Katrina within 24 hours. I will post a few pre hurricane pics. I will lose power so will be off line. I write this because I feel that if you guys know who and where I am, the worst may not happen to us...otherwise you all could say..."remember that guy KenSkid...he was hurt in the hurricane".

So by me posting this..I hope it makes it unlikely that you will be able to say to your friends that you know someone who was wacked good in the hurricane"!...Make sense???

Well here is a link to where I am...if you hear St. Tammany Parish...Covington, Louisiana...that would be me...

Thanks...and say a prayer....

peace be with you, ken. good luck with this! yes, take pictures, but don't do anything stupid. when gaston hit richmond last year, one of the first casualties was a tree falling on a guy out taking pictures...

Stay safe (if that's possible). I'm sure you have many more photo opportunity years left. Everyone here in the Midwest is thinking of all of you in the South. I absolutely love Louisiana; so I'm praying for everyone and everything there ...

Are you staying in your house or evacuating to a shelter? Either way I will be thinking of you and your family. I hope all goes well for you.

Hey I'm saying this without knowing how bad this all will really get here yet, but if any of you need help after the storm feel free to call me if you can find a phone that works. Most landlines are underground and if you have an older type phone that does not require electricity there is a good chance that will still work even after all power is gone and cell towers are blown over.

You all might want to PM me now I and I can give you my number. I'm only a few hours drive from No and I do have a generator, a FWD and a few chain saws.

Good luck you all. Martin

Thanks for everyone's concern:

We have evacuated about 50 miles north. I live in a suburb of N.O. called Metairie. My home is likely to be under water Monday afternoon.

I am now about 9 miles north of covington, la. Check the map in my first post. The wind here will be horrible but we will not flood. We will likely be stuck here w/o power for days or even weeks. That will be ok with me and my family as long as we are safe.

I'll check back later.

Hello again,

Here are the first 2 pics...please don't critique!!!

The storm may have made a "jog" to the east...this would put me on the weak side but still in danger....

Keep in touch...

We will be thinking of all who are in the path and especially New Orleans. I'm sure most of our memebewrs have evacuated if they are below sea level and they are able to. good luck and hope to hear from you tommorrow.
