I am lloking to possibly print a 5x7 of this photo and also put it on the web. I would appreciate any tips on how to make it look better.



Also if someone could tell me why my link is not working here

When adding a thumbnail, just click the thumbnail icon (the icon furthest to the right) and add ONLY the image number (in this case, 223064). Viola!

Curves to color correct (select midtone)
Shadow/Highlight to bring out detail in the hair
Boost sat on trees and sky, correct skin tones a little

One thing that I have learned is; go into levels and press alt and drag the darkest part of the levels to where you can barely see here eyes comming in. (You'll know what I mean when you do this) I have just started playing with PS so that all I can give you. Sorry.

The "colour corrected" version you have posted has a very, very strong red colour cast on my monitor (which is pretty well calibrated I believe).

Might have been a colorspace problem. Someone check it now.

How's this?

Very small edits:....
sharpen 50% r=1 or 2
slight lighten
variations add red and yellow, by 5 each (repeated)
selected background and used softing blur (repeated)
selected some areas of skin and again used softening blur to mattify and soften

This is looking pretty well, although I see areas around her mouth that may need blurring too.

I agree with everyone about the other one looking red.

I like the way the highlights in her hair are coming out.

Is the light on her right cheek bothering anyone( or was it before I pointed it out?)

Animated so you cna see the changes easier.
I know i did a lot which probably was not needed. but i tried to make it look the best I could. Too over the top?

Rusch, I didn't get the animation, it didn't come through.

Johndavid, oh, come on.... LOL, your model is pretty, but she has serious neck problems.. she should see a doc.

I just finished putting the details on the pic :-)
I adjusted the skin tones using curves. My goal was to retain the look of the late light while avoiding oversaturationof the reds. I think I did actually use a tiny tweak of hue/sat to slightly reduce saturation of reds as well, now that I think of it.
I'm actually amazed that it came out well, I edited it on my laptop, usually a prescription for disaster!

This is my very quick attempt.

Auto levels/contrast/colour
Brightness/Contrast adjustment
Adjust curves/history brush, highlight eyes
Burned the background
