OK.....I just had a comment that there was no dairy in my picture (but there was by the way) just not some milk, cheese etc, and that it took away from the challenge. So if someone takes a picture of a dairy cow, does that mean its not really dairy?? Maybe the person didn't know what they were looking at but I can't understand that they wouldn't know. Just a thought.

Different people have different perceptions, and there's little you can do about it. I have commentors claiming that my naked model doesn't meet the challenge for Nude, so you're not alone.

Im getting alot of comments saying mine doesnt meet the challenge although its really confusing because it totally does. You have to wonder if people are just fixated on every pic containing Milk or Cheese. I would guess that the majority of those leaving comments like that are probably not members. Members tend to have more open minds about expression and out of the box thinking.

I think many of the dairy entries are very creative and very humorous! Well done!

okay my dairy pic sucked .. i was in a hurry... so i know mine is well not that great.

So the question about dairy being dairy.. you are being daring to put something that doesn't go with the description. Its not to say that you didn't take the best pic on the planet... its just to say its not on topic in the way that they have described... i am guilty too. The point it there is a pie baking contest -- and you say I want to make a pizza pie. and you do and its scrumdidleeuptious. Cool but your probably gonna lose... not cause its a bad "pizza" pie...because your interpretation was different. And about the dairy cows --at the very least dairy comes from cows... and other animals too... what if i put in a goat?? would YOU find that odd and off topic... well it still produces milk and cheese? The problem that I have with the cows is this... people put in pics of BULLS. Bulls produce sperm.. not milk. But I saw alot of good pics of cows.. I didn't give them low scores .. nor the butt shot. At lest they tried and they are making art.

Wow, I hope I wasn't the one commenting on a photo which didn't meet the challenge IMO. I did leave a couple of those comments, but it wasn't any cow pics or anything which had a dairy theme I could figure out. If it was me, sorry... but I don't think it was.

I can understand what 4ROGGYCHEF is talking about. Back for the 'Darkness' challenge, I made it a point to not show anything of negative influence and I KNEW it was going to be rated low because of it. I was just hoping people would see what I was talking about and, with a couple of the comments made, there are a few out there which did understand. Here is the photo:

Anyway, that's all I have to say about that. There are people who have commented on my 'Dairy' photo saying they didn't think it really met the challenge, but I like the photo and that's all that matters to me. I'm technically not going after a blue ribbon in my challenges, I'm just posting some of my work when they fit the challenge at hand.

How about this one...My dairy entry is cropped asymmetrically and one of my comments was:

"the photo is off centre"...

Uh, YEAH!! I cropped it that way on PURPOSE! Do you really think I'm so dense that I wouldn't notice that my subject is in one corner of the photo???

Sheesh. Kids...you buy 'em books and you buy 'em books...and they still don't get it!

Let me tell you what 4roggychef is talking about.
Don't freak out if people get all wierded out and don't like it when you think outside of the box. Thats why its called thinking outside of the box....I did some challenges and people were asking and pointing out the most obvious things and thats fine for them. I am just saying ... be brave and don't worry about all the mainstream bubblegummers out there... you shoot what you find to be beautiful and what fits into your standards. Along the way you always pick up some commenters.. who GET IT and thats worth all the others who don't.

I can't find the "eggs" thread, but in somebody's defense I think the great food chart lists eggs in the dairy food group. Hmmmmm, makes me wonder if those of us who don't feel eggs is actually dairy, actually know the definition of Dairy. Could Dairy's definition be " a substance that an animal produces used for human consumption?" I don't really know, and I don't really think that I care enough to go look it up, but I bet somebody will! LOL!

actually - eggs are in the meat group on the infamous food pyramid chart
