Hey guys,
I'm totally new to dpc and photography, too. My second attempt in the "dairy" challenge is also not well focused. I tried the manual focus, but couldn't actually adjust it right based on the display of the camera.

Where should I pay more attention? What is important when I take a photograph with manual focus?

Manual focus on a P & S camera can be a real challenge.

Taking several photos with just minor adjustments to the focus distance may be something to try. Also, using the smallest aperture (largest number) will give the largest depth of field therefore giving you a better chance of getting what you want in focus.

Yeah, I tried the manual focus on my minolta dimage z1. I'll try the change with the aperture size...

Manually focusing on a camera with an electronic viewfinder is going to be a difficult task to get right. Make sure that the diopter is set properly according to your eyesight.
