there seems to be a lot of spiders on here lately so why not one more. i just took this outside my house, light was bad, and i had to hold the camera over my head. so not the greatest picture, but a cool spider.

wow very big. well looks like it. wouldent wanna have it by me. i think id jump on it after shooting the pic.

cool spider, these things can get pretty big. I have seen them in webs that span about 20 ft.

The spider is a male Nephila clavipes - Golden-silk Spider.

Any idea what this fellow is? I found him in my back yard just a couple days ago, and I saw a twin of his at a camp I was visiting on Sunday. We came to a mutual agreement to simply leave one another alone.

Argiope aurantia - Black and Yellow Argiope, probably a female.

This guy was outside last night. The neighbor was looking for his dog this morning
