I definitely didn't fake it. I got drenched but I had a towel over my camera....and I got the shot...yeehaa...it only rained for 24 hours here....I wasn't even out at midnight trying for some shots but eventually got the shot the next day....2 hours later the rain stopped. LOL!!

Saw this in my garden. Took two flowers, brought them inside. Took photo. Oh yeah, definitely fake in "sunny california"

I didn't enter the challenge but I think there were a fair amount of faked shots. I did NOT vote down those shot (that I thought) was faked but I did give extra merit to the ones that was obviously taken in the rain.

I don't think there was anything wrong with faking the shot as long as you did a good job of making it seem like rain. There were a lot of great shots in the challenge.

My neighbor's sprinkler and bright sunshine made this bit of impressionistic abstraction ...

This shot was from the Macro IV Challenge last year about this time. Unlike last Summer, HOT and DRY as this one is, I had to fake the rain on the mushrooms for extra touch.

I wanted to enter for the Rain Challenge, great timeing here in MO as we got dumped on finally after 2 months of hot and dry weather. However, I had to much other things going on. :( But wondeful shots people!

Mine is actual rain....but I think there wasn't enough of it and people found it hard to see! I had my daughter stand on our verandah in the rain so I could capture it!

*SIGH*

Whew! Now I can laugh! When I saw this photo I didn't quite know what to think, and didn't want to be rude. BTW, with those fake teeth you have a strange resemblence to Clint Howard (Ron's brother) lol:

edit: didn't mean that as rude as it sounded ;-)

Mine was "fake" in a sense - it was done on the backlot of Universal Studios. They turned on the "rain" and I snapped it. So is that considered fake? I did well, so I guess it's ok. hee hee

Judy P.S - Toddhead, yours still cracks me up. I stand by my "Village People" comment. ROFLMBO

Sprinkler against the window. Was it obvious?

We hadn't had any rain for over a month, so I had to go with a hose. Don't have a nozzle either, so it wasn't very good rain, but Shiloh loved it! We do this hose game several times a day :)

Since the challenge began, we have gotten rain - and it is even raining today. Wouldn't you know it, but my grass is green again, so I am not complaining LOL

This is the un-cropped version of my submission. I actually had rain, but it didn't translate in the picture and was widely disliked....Getting ready for the next challenge hopefully I'll do better :)

My rain was real - mudhut and I were at the zoo in glorious sunshine and it started chucking it down for about 20 mins. We were walking across a bridge and I happened to see the flamingoes below looking a little sad - I guess it dosn't rain much where they come from unlike in the UK where it never really stops?

Mine was rain. We hadnt had any for about two months and on the last evening of the challenge at about 4pm it started raining lightly, not enough to get the rain in the shot a well. Saw this in the garden and snapped it. Was dubious about entering it but thought what the heck and did so about three hours before end of submissions! Didnt do too badly I suppose considering ... 108th LOL

Edit: forgot to mention it rained the whole of the next day and night!!!

Mine was real rain - in fact it was pouring! I had to walk all the way around the lake to get the shot (carrying tripod, camera, umbrella) and nearly slipped and fell several times because there was a fallen tree across one bank. By the time I got back to my car, I was soaked and ankle-deep in mud, goose & duck crap. BUT, I had managed to keep my camera dry and was pleased with the ultimate outcome. :-)

I don't like to call it "faked". I call it a "special effect"! Read my description to see what I did.:)
