My favorites in this challenge by far have been the entries that have shown what “live music” is all about. Live music is all about the people, the crowds, the on lookers, and the passerby’s that create the environment. I love the entries that have been able to capture that. For once the solo rocker with the painful expression and boring background has been upstaged.

I do not believe it's appropriate to start a thread such as this while we're still voting.

With only two days into the voting period, many people have not voted on all the entries or even started to vote at all. A thread like this is dangerously close to calling out individual shots. It can conciously or IMHO even more importantly unconciously sway how people vote on the images in question. In effect, they may take what YOUR oppinion on the challenge is and vote differently than THEY would have origionally thus biasing the results.

I respect your opinion. From my experience I think people who participate in these challenges are more insightful than what it seems you’ve suggested them to be by letting my simple opinion waiver their decision while voting. I’m sure everyone will make they’re own opinion just as you have by responding…that’s what this “thread” is all about, opinions. And by hearing yours when you expressed your concern by saying, “A thread like this is dangerously close to calling out individual shots.” It made me think, well which shot? Isn’t there a lot that fall under this description? Wasn’t there too many cranes in the construction challenge…I was one of those “too many” cranes, and it was said by someone other than me before the voting had ended, and my crane happens to be my highest voted entry. Thank you for your opinion.

And thank you for your opinion too Daniel. Everybody's got one. What needs to be remembered when thinking about how much threads like this one can influence the voters, and the final placings, is that a disproportionate amount of the votes come from relatively new members of our community. These people are more easily influenced to vote this way for that type of picture, or to vote following what they have read in a thread. Frequently they haven't been around long enough, and seen enough of what goes on in the forums to correctly evaluate other peoples opinions and give them the weight they deserve when voting.
