Congrats to all the winners. I feel a bit beat up over this last challenge. I took a photo a San Francisco made of legos and though the photo doesn't really pop, it has a certain reality to it if you don't look too close. I think many people didn't realize the lego connection and scored me down, but mabey not. So I pose the question now. Did you get the lego connection? If no, would have the knowledge effected your scoring?

Congrates to all... it was a good challenge, fun to look at. I liked 90% of the photos in illusions II compared to 40% in affluence.

I got the Lego illusion as I used to live in SF and work right around this area in the financial district. This interpretation of this street is not real :) Great job though.

bvoi, I was one of the people who didn't get it, I have never been to San Francisco, would never imagine they had a Legoland there. Didn't vote the image down though because it's good.

I was also surprised to find a third of the commenters on my entry saying it didn't meet the challenge because it wasn't an illusion! The leaning columns of Roman architecture must be the "oldest" optical illusion around LOL. Maybe the fact that most entries concentrated on optical tricks had something to do with people's expectations of the challenge, and not some simple obvious interpretation..

Congratulations to everyone who took part and especially the winners. I came 81st, but I wasn't really too surprised. A lot of people didn't get the illusion. For those who were really curious the illusion was a melting face. I did it with glow-in-the-dark paint. I had heaps of fun shooting it with my daughter. Haven't giggled so much before! Here is the original.

i'll aggree the image needes something -
i really wanted to do the whole fauset & sink
but with water spraying everwhere & a cloth wraped around the fauset being held up by my wife (she held the glass also)- she was nearly hugging the sink --
i couldn't quite justify buying a new fauset - the neighbour who hadd lent me the sink & fauset - had replaced it because the fauset was junk (saving the sink to take up to the cottage) ...

real pity is i had thrown out a sink & functioning fauset & even attached to an ugly counter top just a few months earlier - after remodling our kitchen ...

sigh ..

I'm very, very pleased with the finish and, as with every challenge I enter, I'm learning more and more as I go. Thanks to you all for the great feedback and support!

This is the shot I wanted to use in challenge, but would have been DQ'd but here it is anyway, just for fun.
