Alright, I have a Sony DSC-P31 it sucks, but it gets the job done.

My question is:

Has anyone experienced the problem with their digital camera were the picture looks good on the LCD, but when you upload it to your PC it's darker then what was shown on the LCD? If my PC monitor was one of those new LCD one's would the picture look how it was when on the digital camera's LCD display?

Also would I be able to replicate look of the photo on digital camera's LCD with Photostudio 2000SE?

Well I have to say that besides the hardware differences thus possibly different gamma settings (which would make the picture look darker or lighter), I've also noticed significant differences in color and contrast even by a number of different jpeg viewers editors for the same pic on the same monitor (including the viewer for IE or Netscape/Mozilla) which I found quite surprising. So since these things are adjustable I'd just try to get it to look as close to how you want it to look on what you use (if you've done as much as easily possible to adjust the monitor properly) and for full control use hard copy output (and a few prints to get the adjustments right :>).

Things always look clearer on a smaller monitor. (lcd display)

Also, make sure that your LCD doesn't have a "bright" setting. My Sony DSC-S30 did, and if i left it on while taking pics, it was invariably too dark on the 'puter.

Kaneda, I have the same problem. I have a Sony F707 that looks one way, a Philips LCD on the home computer, a laptop and have access to 5 other monitors at work. No two of them look the same. I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out which one to use to do my submittal. I've been making them intentionally light on the home LCD and then looking at them on the work computers to see how they may look in the "wild". You might try Emailing them to friends and getting their feedback and you'll develope a "feel" for what is right for a submission. Hope this helps a little.

I do not know at all about ICC profile and calibration but that's what they are suppose to care care of I think.
I do not know if you can have a ICC profile for a LCD monitor .. not sure ... I need to investigate on that.
